Accidental intake may cause systemic effects due to Minoxidil’s vasodilatory activity.
Signs and symptoms of drug overdose would most likely include cardiovascular consequences such as fluid retention, low blood pressure, and tachycardia.
Fluid retention can be treated with adequate diuretic medication.
Tachycardia can be managed by administering a beta-adrenergic blocking medication.
To treat hypotension, normal saline should be administered intravenously.
Sympathomimetic medications, including norepinephrine and epinephrine, should be avoided due to their high heart-stimulating activity.
