What is AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution?

The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a 10-minute exfoliating facial for experienced users of Direct Acids. It offers efficient chemical exfoliation of the skin to target dullness and textural irregularities, to improve visible skin radiance with continued use. This formula also incorporates a Tasmanian pepperberry derivative to help reduce signs of irritation associated with acid use. ⁣⁣

AHA and BHA are two terms used to group acids – e.g. Lactic and glycolic acids are AHAs – small, water-soluble molecules that exfoliate multiple layers of skin. BHAs are oil soluble and generally a little less irritating for sensitive skin, e.g. salicylic acid. The fact that this contains a blend of both (glycolic, lactic, citric, salicylic, and tartaric acids feature) means that it’s a super powerful solution that packs a punch.

How To Use AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

When using the direct acids always patch test.

Don’t use them with other direct acids, retinoids, or pure Vitamin C

Make sure you’re avoiding unprotected solar exposure.

Idealy use in the evenings.

Don’t apply acids to peeling, compromised, sensitive, or broken skin.

Follow the directions on the packaging.

Note: Due to the high concentration of free acids, we would not recommend using this formula on sensitive, compromised, or peeling skin. ⁣‼️⁣

While exfoliating acids can result in quick visible benefits, we generally suggest indirect forms of skin exfoliation in favor of direct forms due to the potential inflammation and sensitivity associated with acid use.
